Thought everyone would like to know that the urinals in the men's restroom now have dividers, an improvement that has taken place over the last week or so.

IPF cant be far away

I noticed that - nice improvement! The sitting toilets urinals are very odd.

If Antiques Road Show comes through town, they should check them out.

That, and the 1.5-person elevator in Dallas Hall...

Heh, such a weird first step. First time I saw them at the Ole MIss game, them good ole boys from the south complained about fitting in that tight space, most peed from a distance.

When I think Moody upgrades, dividers on the urinals would be very way down on my list.

They concluded a feasibility study last spring, and I believe will begin to implement changes in 2012/2013.

I think this is a bad sign as far as full scale Moody upgrades are concerned. Urinal dividers were way overdue, but by no means an "essential" item to the day to day operation of the venue. You don't invest money in something you are going to rip out in a 1,2 or up to a 5 year period unless they are critical to ongoing operations (see Jerry letting Texas Stadium go to hell).

My only hope is they were scavenged from another building being renovated or a new build over ordered dividers. Otherwise, if they are investing in cosmetic upgrades, this might be a sign we will have Moody as usual for another 5+ years.

I get a chance to see about 2-3 games a year at Moody and I have to say it is not a nice gym any longer. Really old and possibly the worst collegiate level patron friendly arena I have ever been to. I have been to may only a dozen or so different arenas so my perspective is not expert but you don't have to be one to know Moody is way out dated and needing of so many “major” upgrades. Not sure if it is best to implode and start fresh or try and gut it and modernize just the interior. A great gym in it’s prime but no more. CRUM is a great facility and works wonders for the program, no doubt. Moody is the black eye. Hopefully University Brass and some rich people will make something happen

I can't think of a college SPECTATOR venue any better - now, if you need that restroom pampering and gourmet concessions on demand - or require personal space in the corridors - Moody could use a slight overhaul. For the few that frequent the coliseum, it's fine. A new facility won't (in and of itself) attract fans (see Ford Stadium attendance). A championship caliber team will draw the folks - and they won't care about the embellishments - they'll just want to see the game. Spend the money on a natatorium.
