How 'bout it Ben Braun? Twice as Nice

I'm excited for the kids...sounds like they're understanding this better day by day.

We may have    at the ridiculous non-conference schedule. Maybe it was because we needed to do that so the kids would have some success early with this system and get some cheap Ws in the process so they would have some confidence and we would have a chance to be competitive at this point?

Only thing I can think of.

That kind of thing has happened before in college basketball.

this whole season was scheduled to generate program momentum, especially when we thought we'd have much of the frosh class. I was told point blank that SMU hasn't had 20 wins in close to 15 years, and that 20 wins and a buy-in to the CBI would set the stage for coming years. Then the '10 class was declared ineligible, and all bets were off.

I'll keep saying it, the princeton is CUSA kryptonite

We have certainly worked it well so far in conference play. It is funny, Teams will defend it well early in the game, and then they start defending it well 30 seconds at a time, then, all of sudden, they are broken down and we are getting uncontested layups, wide open 3s, and Dia with good matchups on the blocks.

Great Offense that takes patience, and this team finally figured it out. They don't panic when they are down. They just let the offense keep working at wearing down the defenders.

I think that 1999-2000 NIT team went something like 21-9.

yea I know, but it was coming from a coach, so I let it go as minutia. Still, that was the strategy. That said, that's not why this is working right now. Its the system and bunch of gritty kids buying in on both ends.

Well, anytime your last 20-win season begins with "1", that's not good.

And coaches -- regardless of the sport -- do a very good job of purposely being inaccurate on some fact to sell something. But hey, that's their job.

How much did JJ say the SMU tuition was? $75,000?

Those Dement teams fell into two categories...Underachieving and Sucking.

Hell, I am enjoying this season more than when we went to the NIT with that underperforming team with Sasser, Davis, and Ellsey.

Still not as good as '93 when we went dancing with Shumate. That Rice comeback win in overtime to set us up for the conference win still ranks up there as a favorite moment. That, and good Ole Tony Barone's fightin Aggs upsetting Rice the last game of the season to give SMU the title out right.

'93, 2011, 2000.....thats how I rank my favorite seasons since 1990.
