Are we about to experience basketball withdrawal?

I'm serious. Team's on a four-game winning streak and doesn't play until next Wednesday against Tulane. Team is on the verge of collecting its highest season win total under Doherty and in the middle of the conference race.

The weekend is a great time for all of the hoops action and SMU is off.

Are we panicking because there are no hoops? Has it really come to this from what we all though in November?

Am I asking too many questions?

OMG! OMG!

so PonyDoh, is your mood today less festive than it would usually be after a Pony 'w' as a result of the Terps losing to Duke last night?

Has Mitch actually been to a game yet? Inquiring minds want to know?

Probably not, but remember sometimes he catches the last 5-10 minutes on the radio, if he feels like it

I wouldn't say that. I'm quite close to the Terp program, but i've been frustrated at it's direction for quite some time. I've known what we are and aren't for years. Every program has its ceiling, and Maryland doesn't even come close to tapping it's potential, so I wasnt particularly shocked by the outcome. I'm sorta sad that the money-men around Terp hoops can't distinguish between program & Gary Williams. They seem to have merged over the years, to the detriment of program. Nothing about 'daring to be great' in College Park these days.

disgusting! You can't even believe how many season tix that cost the school, not to mention media hype. Beyond that, they crapped all over Under Armous head man, Kevin Plank. Terp brass lacks sack, so it doesn't surprise any of us when they get wrecked by duke. You make your own bed in sports

Dare I ask what you think the ceiling is for SMU basketball?

Before this season, I said 18. That was before the recruiting class was announced, we got the Williams transfer, etc.. After the class was announced, I figured it would be 15. With the progress we have shown this year, I daresay Doh's job is safe for another year, and has been since the Tulsa win.

Not yet. But when you live in Tarrant County, are married, have kids and working around schedules, it gets tight. I'm in the middle of hoops season with the 10-year-old and she plays on Saturday afternoons. Wednesday nights are usually out.

I just don't have the flexibility to get over there.

I am looking at Tulane next Wednesday. If not, it would be Tulsa.

And I would submit to you the fact that if I can't be there, I at least try to listen whenever I can or follow the game on the gametracker. So if mavsrage is going to A BIG FAT BASKETBALL SNOT when it comes to his snide portrayol, then so be it.

BTW, I'm not going to repeat my position on this program. PonyDoh and papa know how I feel about things. Get your answer from them.

I'll leave it like this: I wouldn't post about the program -- good or bad -- if I wasn't interested in it.

Thanks.

Fair enough, appreciate the interest. Understand the need to support the family. Great to have devoted fans. However, hard to form any opinions listening to the radio.

Well, I do what I can. I contributed to Crum and been connected to this program since 1987-88 when I was a freshman. I may not have been to a game this year but I'm not going to apologize for what I have seen in a quarter century.

I just want the program to win. We all do.
