What to the Ponies need to do to beat UCF tomorrow?

We have played solid in most of our games. We have played darn good on the road. UCF is a Jeckel and Hyde team.

Keys to SMU win?

Keys to UCF win?

Looks like they have great support and atmosphere there.

Offensive production from Dia and Nyukundi. They have to both be on (as we've seen in most of our wins). They have both outscored Jordan who, unsurprisingly, leads UCF in offensive production, but UCF seems to get more production from their bench too. Dia should have lots of opportunities matching up against Herzog but Nyukundi is up against a challenge.

Defensively, Nyukundi and Harp will need to combine to contain Clanton (F) who is UCFs main presence in the post. I don't know who we have that could control MJ. When he's had poor shooting nights in conference play, someone has been all over him all night.

We have worked really hard in our match-up zone all year- I see us containing MJ and Pap fronting Clanton in order to limit his production.

The real question is how will JFrog come out tomorrow night? Lot of pressure on him.....

We sneak out of UCF in a close one.

I hope you're right on MJ, but I have a hard time seeing JFrog and Mangrum combining to control him. Clink and Haynes probably have a better combination of speed and size to contain him, but I certainly have more offensive confidence in the former pair.

limit Rob from handling the rock as much as possible - catch and shoot.

Obviously, Dia has to be strong and stay out of foul trouble.

I'm looking forward to the day SMU enjoys that kind of crowd support...it WILL happen. We are making progress with the product on the court

I think JFrog shows up to play tomorrow. I feel like he has come up in big in times when we have needed him the most life OT at Rice. It seems to me like he gets better almost every game. I look forward to us shutting down MJ like we did last year at home. I still think the key needs to be that Papa and Rob have to stay out of foul trouble for us to have a shot. We do not have the talent off the bench.

It's going to go one of two ways for Jfrog.

Family and friends in attendance means he'll play like a stud, or want to really impress them and try to do too much. Jfrog, play within yourself, don't force too much, and we'll be fine.

you're right about that Harry. Hope it doesnt go like it did for the Curry kid at Duke playing at his dad's alma mater last week. Hopefully it's more like Harp's career high at McMurry. Well, maybe not exactly like things went at McMurry.
