Not really...

They had a nice turnout...but SMU fans far outnumbered them...

But in the end...they got the win and left happy...

So Grats!!!.....i guess....

But don't spin it wrong...SMU fans FAR outnumbered them....
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

UTEP or any other fans should never sit-in the blue seats.

I gave up my seats and another did the same and exposed this row to the opposition . Very sad....

That's why we need to do more dealings with people on this board. Good, solid Ponyfans. If you have a ticket but can't go, I think it is important to get them used, but I agree that it is also important to try to get them used by SMU fans. The Ole Miss game was a disgrace in this regard. I was outnumbered in the blue seats...

anyone who sells their seat or gives their seat to the opposing team is a total wus.

Whether someone sells their seats or gives them away is their own choice. There are positives to both, either SMU gets twice the money, or someone gets free tickets. I have given away my seats on this board when I have been unable to go, and I was merely suggesting that more people should take the opportunity to help out other Ponyfans. Of course by giving them away, SMU does not make more money on them, but I like to think that having people at the game who might not otherwise go is a benefit too.

I do wish that ticketmaster didn't charge $2.50 a ticket to email them to someone else, though.

Shadowman - couldn't agree more with your statement. SMU had a really nice turnout. I loved the environment. It is always nice to see loyal supporters like Ira Terrell at the games. That is great for current players, fans, and future players. If you don't know him ( I Don't personally, he was an SMU great who played in the NBA for several years. Why is Tim Floyd coaching? Didn't he get in trouble with the NCAA at USC with the OJ Mayo situation? Same way with the Kentucky Coach - Coach Knight called him out by asking that question - Memphis and U Mass stripped of their banners. I know - two different situations but from an outsider looking in, SMU is doing it the right way in hoops.

UTEP is a good conference mate for us and while they don't have the following of the big boys from our SWC days, they are always going to bring more fans than anyone else we play in CUSA.

It's just sad that over the past 20 years, we've come to appreciate 4,000 in Moody as a "good crowd". I just hope we can get back on track soon and reach the point where we will be disappointed when only 4k show up. We should have crowds like that opening day crowd for ever game and should have 7k for a game as significant as yesterday's was (senior day, chance to earn 1st round bye, etc...)

at least with regard to the row in front of us (I think the seats OTP is referring to), hopefully next year we can buy those up...have two rows of six in OO that we control.

I liked the oversized face pics/posters of the seniors. I say next year we distribute 100 Doh, 100 Mangino and 100 Hobbie versions. Especially give the Doh headshots to the band for use on opposing team free throws.

We will see those days, and getting good local players like Cunningham, Jones etc will bring more local followers. I had no problem with UTEP and their fans ....that creates a good atmosphere at Moody and further enhances our Texas rivalry.

I remember we had some down years attendance wise about the time Bliss took over, but he made a point of trying to get one of the better local kids to stay home. 1st year it was Reggie Pink, then Carl Wright and as the product improved, our fans slowly filtered back into Moody. All we need is 5-6k in that place and it can really rock

Put an entertaining product on the court, simple/slick new media marketing, new uni's, better schedule, and we'll get a home court again. After you get some butts in seat, improve the game day experience. Prosper
