A blue hair perspective

When my dearly departed mother reached 85, I had a birthday party for her. Suffering from dementia, she really did not understand what was going on. She had a great time. The children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren hugged her, loved on her, and listened to her oft repeated stories.
She never did know it was her birthday, so the celebration although enjoyed by her very much, was just as much for the other family members who wished to celebrate what turned out to be her last birthday on earth.
Oh, ontheedgeofmyseat called us all idiots and fools because she did not deserve such treatment since she was not an aware contributor and thus did not deserve such attention.
