Absolutely absurd if this conf doesn't get 2 in the tourney. UTEP or UAB + Memphis

11 from BE is a joke

UTEP would be a longshot b/c of RPI and SOS

The conference is only going to get Memphis. You're setting yourself up for frustration if you believe otherwise.

Not clear on this rule - but I think when a selection committee member's school/conference school is being discussed, he must leave the room.

I understand that but it's absurd...

let's say UTEP won, only 1 bid?

I look at Joe Lunardi's bubble watch and many of his work left to do picks are absurd. He dismisses all of the CUSA wins as marginal, dismisses their rpi's and then talks about teams from the big six conferences that have sub-.500 conference records as having good resumes. That to me makes no sense. The fact that UCF had such a great non-conference result (good schedule, good results) and subsequently struggled in league play only strengthens the argument that CUSA is a tough league and deserves 2-3 bids. However, Lunardi simply states that beating UCF is no big deal. You can't have it both ways. To me CUSA should be a lock for 2 bids and I would like to see 3. Probably not going to happen though.

Yes probably only one team and deserves two and maybe three, but it won't happen this year. I really wish that UTEP had of won instead of yet another Memphis team making it into the dance. This is just the evolution of CUSA and it will gain more respect as the teams win against big time programs and maybe several teams making longer runs in the NCAA, NIT and the CBI and yes even that darn CIT. Its been considered just a conference with Memphis as of late, but watching the talent and play in the CUSA championship game yesterday between UTEP and Memphis just convinced me that we are not that far away. UAB won't even be considered this year, but they are ranked 31st in the NCAA as far as records against RPI teams ( 12-4) but even though they are ranked so high.....they won't even get a sniff. The talent and coaching level of CUSA is up and coming. What SMU has coming up with all the talent will only serve to raise the CUSA bar even more.

bottom line is that CUSA didn't win enough quality non-conference games and that is going to hurt the entire conference. UCF beat Florida when they were healthy but were hurt by injuries as they got into CUSA play

Nope. I missed one. And I fixed it. Thanks for the catch.

But it's good to see you're paying attention to that a little more. You should take pride in doing that.
