I heard Gottlieb speculate that as well.

I'm laughing at the ESPN talking heads who are taking shots at UAB and VCU and how they were chosen over Colorado and Va Tech.

Hubert Davis, "I can't make a case for UAB.''

What I laughed at was Fran Fraschilla arguing that there should be more BB coaches on the committee and Gottlieb arguing against it because of "taking care of the fraternity" thinking.

This is so formulaic about the talking heads always bashing/rehashing for the teams that got left out. And then the tournament starts and everybody forgets about it. Part of the 24-hour news cycle.

On a personal note, thank god Minnesota's season is over. What a mess that was. Gophers didn't even deserve NIT IMO.

Mitch,

I know Tubby has repeatedly denied wanting to leave Minny, but there are rumors down south that GT is going to make a run at him.

I've heard that as well. I don't care if he stays or leaves. Coaching is such a transient industry these days.

Maybe the Kentucky fans were right about him. I don't know.

But after watching them play against Northwestern in the Big 10 tournament, I can tell you this season went way beyond the Al Nolen injury and Devoe Joseph "transferring". I think he lost that team.

That was because I talked about Minnesota. And that was his way of saying "he didn't care" or "This doesn't belong on a SMU board"

You know, the usual whining.

Does the Fab Five thread belong on a SMU board?

Of course. The Fab Five has to do with cheating by boosters. Paying athletes to play for a certain university. And the consequences. Something we are all too familiar with in our experience.
I just don't understand why they didn't get get the death penalty.

I'm happy to see UAB in but the only other NCAA Tourney team they beat was that controversial VCU team

I'm hoping the message is that CUSA is a 2 bid conference. IF you win the regular season crown, that means something. It would be a travesty to classify this league like low major one bid leagues.

I agree------ this is building up to be a minimum 2 bid league and hopefully a three bid league in the next few years with SMU, Marshall, Houston all biding for one as well as the Memphis, UTEP, UAB and Tulsa's of the world.

Good for Orsini!!! He deserves the props.....he fights for a lot more than he gets credit for.
