"I told the team they did everything they were supposed to do to win," said Jacksonville coach Cliff Warren. "I thought we won the game. Our players know, and if you're a spectator, you saw that we won."
The school posted a game recap on its website headlined "JU win stolen away by late call." The recap went on to call the final foul the "most controversial ending in the short history" of the CIT and said the referee "came from out of the shadows of the corner" to whistle the foul.

I was a spectator, and as far as I could tell SMU won. What a sorry bunch of SOBs. Their fans didn't show much class either.

Apparently he forgot to tell them to score more points than SMU.

It would be one thing if that article was on cutelittledolphin.com or whatever their fan web site is, but a school web site should show a little more respect than that.

I didn't see the corresponding "Dolphins leave SMU's best player wide open under the basket with .8 seconds remaining" article anywhere.

Yes, hats off to the Jacksonville female fan who was yipping during the playing of Varsity.

And congratulations to the woman who extended half the peace to all of SMU at the conclusion of the playing.

Hoopmanx -- as for your endorsement of Warren, I think I'll pass on him for the reprehensible way his team conducted itself at the end of the game.

I know they were upset about a call (we've all been there). But there is a way to handle it. He and his staff really did a poor job of getting on top of the players.

If anything, Jacksonville should be embarrassed on their conduct at the end of the game.

I would have felt terrible for them. But their sour grapes behavior pretty much nipped it for me.
There is no place for that in college athletics -- or any level of athletics!

Go Mustangs!

I'm a huge fan of daggers bad enough to create bad sportsmanship moments. We should put these guys on the schedule. Bad blood is fun basketball

Yeah, the chick in the purple shirt was priceless. Oh wait, I mean classless. She must not be from San Diego.

Very classless at the end of the game.
But...get them back next year to play again during non conf. Would be fun to watch. That game with a student section would be great.
And have some extra cops around.

I had looked on tapatalk and didn't find one. Not a very exhaustive search though.

Panthers are posting about it though. They thought the press release was poor judgment.
