There is an efx company called a52 who did some commercials for the NBA.
The video is very cool on its own, but in the original footage from when Steve was in college there is a coach in a SMU athletics shirt. I don't think it is the same SMU, especially because nash is obviously already at Santa Clara, but still worth a look. Pretty amazing what they can do.

St Mary's Canada goes by SMU also...they pop up on Google alerts. If you check out their website, the shield on the dude's t-shirt looks like the shield on the site.
