The standing ovation

That was probably the best moment of the season. I was going to stay for Varsity anyway. But after the postgame handshake, the impromptu standing O really put everything into perspective. Plus, there were a good number of people who stayed until time ran out -- more than I expected.

I really think it caught Doherty and the kids off guard. But it shows how much SMU will get behind something.

Yes, I would have wanted to win this CIT. But this program got exactly out of this tournament that it wanted -- 4 games, two weeks of practice and some visibility. I saw Cameras from 2-3 TV stations, press tables looked pretty full.

Moody was great last night. With 2458 in the house -- better than what even SMU thought -- I betch we could have had 6,000 for the title game. It was a done deal that we were going to host had we won.

Doherty made it a point to talk about how much the standing ovation meant to him and the team in the post-game interview. It was definitely cool to see that many people stick around.

That's the most proud I've been of an SMU crowd in years. The standing O was as classy, as the team was scrappy. Good stuff

It was pretty cool to see the players gather at midcourt, and acknowledge the fans. Pony Up!

I thought everyone concerned acted with class, and the number of fans who stayed and gave the standing ovation surprised me. SMU had real spirit last night. I was very proud.

He also immediately went and thanked the band and cheer squad closest to them. Nice to see some props for those hard-working groups.

Was impressed with the turnout and the standing 'o' at the end.
Normally folks flee for the exits as fast as they can.
A nice way for everyone to show their appreciation for the team. I'm glad it happened.

Doh does that at every home game. It's a nice touch.
