NIT Championship

Wichita St. 66
Alabama 57

Good for the Shockers. They beat Nebraska, won at Virginia Tech (go suck it Seth Greenberg), beat College of Charleston and then Washington St. in the semifinals to get to the title game.

I hope the winner of Butler-VCU beats Kentucky or Connecticut. For the NCAA title. And I hope Creighton finds a way to beat Oregon in the CBI's deciding game on Friday.

To the BCS teams -- Be afraid of the mid-majors. Be very afraid.!!!

Honestly, it's so wacky in college ball these days, I have no doubt Wichita St can beat either Butler or VCU. Moving forward, Creighton is better than WSU etc. Good time to be an ascending mid. I can't see this tourney at 68 teams for very long. There is basically no difference between teams 40-100

Given that no 1 seeds survived. Only 1 BE team and 1 SEC team, no ACC team, no Pac 10 team, no Big XII team, no Big Ten team survived. That BE team probably would not have made the tournament without a run in the BE tourney. The SEC team was a 4 seed. So, I would say that there is almost no difference in the Top 100 programs on a neutral court for one game. There were quite a few close games in this tournament. For one thing, the one and dones in the huge programs do not necessarily bring victory when facing a team full of upperclassmen (with the exception of Kentucky).

Gotta get a BCS system going in basketball immediately to eliminate the mid major threat. Then and only then will the proper balance to the Universe be restored.
