is this the Moody Foundation of Galveston fame? Or a new entity created specifically for the purpose of putting a name on the piles of donations? If it's the former, nice to see the original namesake's legacy involved

Heard if you call the "foundation" family Moody they all get sad. Some say they get the blues.

Rather, Pony Up chaps.

If you donated to the basketball program in the past or the construction of the Crum Center like I did -- my donation was enough for a sink -- then some of us got the invitation in Tuesday's mail. At least, that's what I think Friarwolf is referring to.

I opened my invitation right after I saw this thread. The announcement is next Wednesday, April 20 right in front of Moody. I think I can get there.

I'm ready to contribute another sink or drain.

fantastic!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moody_Coliseum

When the building was opened in 1956, it was known simply as the SMU Coliseum. In 1965, the arena was renamed Moody Coliseum in memory of William Lewis Moody, Jr. of Galveston, Texas.

Big thanks to The Moody Foundation - they really do a lot of great things. It's nice to see them step up for such a fantastic building named for them.
