According to a Dayton website, the 6'9 225 Frenchy PF is doing a barn storming tour of the US and will be visiting Towson, Dayton and SMU before heading back to France.

Apparently signed with Providence but couldn't get through the clearing house. I guess he is now eligible? Apparently has four years left.

Hat tip goes to my SMU alum friend and fanatical Dayton Flyers fan for the information. From what I read on the Dayton sites, it appears he is good to go next year, but I can't vouch for that information.

He's not overly athletic, but that video speaks to the princeton. Showed ability to finish w/either hand, over both shoulders, solid position rebounder, drop step, and up'n'under. Part of Dia's dominance was that american bigs have no understanding of bigs that finish left. Sorta physical too.

Pretty hard to turn that kid away, if he wants in. If he can roll next year, that pulls a ton of pressure off Vilde, Nyuk, Cannen, until Leslee comes back.

Story about him from Dayton Daily News

Alexandre Gavrilovic, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward from Strasbourg, France, began a two-day visit at UD on Wednesday.

Gavrilovic, who played at IMG Academy in Florida, won a gold medal in the European Championships while playing as a 19-year-old on the French under-20 team last summer. He signed a letter-of-intent with Providence in 2010 but was never admitted because of issues with his French academic transcript.

After being released by the Big East school, he returned to IMG and has been checking out a handful of colleges this spring.

We have experience with bungled foreign transcripts, maybe that can be our niche.

Geez, if it leads to quality bigs still available in May, that's nice niche. If we only have 1 ship, and its between Russell & Gavrilovic, who do you take? Russell isn't available next year, and only has 2 years left. Gavrilovic has 4 and is eligible next year.

I believe hoopmanx answered this above, but do BB transfers have to sit a year D1 to D1 as do FB transfers?
