I'm Terp by birth under Lefty. When I started in the basketball industry, I learned very quickly that Maryland is considered a top 10ish job, based on a variety of factors. As much respect as Gary deserves, the programs ceiling is so much higher. I'm thankful for his time, he's a HOF guy, and we're very friendly in social circumstances, but he underachieves. For 15 plus years, he treated recruiting like it doesn't matter. I think SMU may have more 4 star kids on the roster next year than Maryland. Every kid who committed to Maryland, did so b/c it was his best offer.

I'm quite excited, but beyond tonight, I won't post on this situation. Tomorrow is about Gary, after that, it's about Under Armour.

Sure, we believe that! Your an expert on Maryland basketball now. Run that by Billy Hahn and Fran F who both worked for him about his work ethic, recruiting and coaching skills. Did you work for him?

They'll both tell you he doesn't recruit. I've known Billy since before his stint at Maryland, and hes always admitted as much. I was also there when Billy and Gary had to be separated at Steve Blakes wedding, b/c Billys loaded [deleted] didnt think Gary stuck up for regarding the rape charges at LaSalle. Things are slightly more amicable now, ever since Hahn got back in at WVU and his wife got ill. BTW, Hahn is pleading for a job at Maryland right now, cause he's on the outs at WVU.

We all know about Billy's wife cancer. I don't think either Fran nor Billy would appreciate your comments about Gary on this site. Your IQ must be about as low as the temp in my house. You don't say that on a board.

Say what? That they made up after Billy's wife got sick? Common knowledge and discussed on many boards.

OK HM - I am not privy to the personal lives of coaches.

This HC crap is all the more reason some of us will just have to stay on the paid boards. Ridiculously weak BS that just won't stop I tell ya......help us!!

It is your right to stay off the post so do as you say and stay off. You might not be missed as much as you think. Be constructive, give us knowledge, energy, and talk about SMU. That would be a start.
Don't bring "others" into this. Speak for yourself. If you got your feelings hurt then you let somebody get to you. Don't allow that to happen.

Ponyscott, don't go anywhere. You're a valuable contributor here. Just ignore this guy (if someone can explain how to make someone a "foe" it will help a lot of folks) and converse with the PonyFans who have been here for a while and understand what a message board is all about.

What did you just contribute to this board? Talk about SMU basketball or football. He should ignore me. That was my suggestion. Don't respond! Give us some ideas on SMU sports. That would be a more productive use of your time and energy. Got your big boy pants on, don't you?

Go to User Control Panel
Select Friends and Foes tab across the top
Select Manage Foes on the left and enter the name of the person whose posts you don't want to see

Second and long - great suggestion! Now we hopefully can get back to talking about SMU sports. This is like the Jerry Springer show. Everyone wants to talk about everything except SMU sports. Your post was excellent. That is exactly what people have to do and you have added something insightful and intelligent to this board. Thank you!

P.S. Isn't it weird how all the views and posts are on the negative stuff and nothing on coaches versus cancer, etc. That tells you something, doesnt it?
