Story in yesterday's New Orleans Times-Picayune said that Tulane had picked up a "late" addition to it's 2011-12 freshman class when it signed 6-8 post player Lotanna Nwogbo of Mount Vernon Presbyterian School. He had been considering smaller colleges around the Atlanta area and had even considered playing at a junior college. Then it said that SMU had also showed recent interest.
Why would we be recruiting this guy right before school started?

You never know, the kid has a really big frame. Hoops is about need, not class spacing these days. Kids move on, are forced out etc. The '12 class is pretty bad w/regards to impact bigs, so maybe they thought Nwogbo was worth a look. They need a space eater, if you ask me. Someone w/good hands and court sense, but a wide base that eats glass. Not to mention Leslee is a ways off, and Vilde/Cunningham are frosh.

By "they" do you mean "we"? Or were you referring to Tulane?

all those late offers right before school indicates to me that the kid might be a late qualifier
