I had a really long discussion w/another new media expert, and an ex SMU assistant about Doh's use of twitter & facebook. Basically, we were talking about programs that ban twitter, and they were surprised Doh hadn't, given his paranoid/control freak past. I told them that he's sorta ingenious in that he stalks them via social networks to keep them in line. Just like the Russell blurb, he's always leaning on them about posting too late etc. The second he enters a thread or whatever, the player shuts it down.

Anyway, the ex SMU assistant wasn't so sure about the tactic, saying the head coach should remain presidential, and not get get pulled into the new media muck. Slippery Slope. First he talks w/players on twitter, now he's responding to zealots like this hoopmanx character. All of the sudden everyone is muddy.
