IRVING, Texas (SMU) - Christine Elliott was selected to the Conference USA Women's Basketball Preseason Team by the league's coaches, conference officials announced Thursday. The 6-3 post from Wichita, Kan., was one eight players named to the team.
As a junior in 2010-11, Elliott led the Mustangs in scoring with 10.5 points per game and rebounds with 7.3 per game, 10th in the conference. She shot 53.7-percent from the field last season, averaging 27.0 minutes in 29 games with 28 starts. During her three seasons at SMU, Elliott has scored 932 points and grabbed 682 rebounds.
Elliott is one of four seniors expected to lead the Mustangs this season. SMU opens the regular season on Nov. 12 against Alcorn State in Moody Coliseum at 2 p.m.
