who plays what?

it's almost like we have one slot fewer on the court w/ two PGs out there to start.

I guess it's Cannen/Leslee/Vilde at 5? Or does Cannen go to 4?
1 and 1a are Frog and Cotton?
Nyuk is out there
Jalen/Williams share a spot?
still baffled at Losh getting so much P.T...I would think his minutes diminish if Doh can bring himself to do it (see GiddyUp's comments)
Good problem to have. I still have concerns about Jalen's headspace after last night

1) Manuel, Frog
2) Russell, Cotton
3) Williams, Jones
4) Nyuk, Cannen,
5) Smith, Vilde

That's my perfect world situation. I know Frog played well last year, and I'm a believer in his game, but he's not the long-term answer at PG, IMO.

Will you guys please refer to players by his actual name on occasion (and I mean just occasionally)? It's no secret I'm a lagging SMU basketball “fan”, but it makes it hard to follow when you guys starting talking in code.

lol

I def don't think frog is the answer at PG. I think he makes a fine back up for C USA, but if we want this program to excell, he can not be the starter, especially playing in the big east.

Would like to see Manuel get more time at PG, and I think he will once he gets his feet wet. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start at PG by time time conference play rolls around (although you never know, seems like Doh has the same love fest for frog as he did for Harp).

Can Cotton play the 1, or only in a pinch? Is he more of a combo? Doesn't seem like a true 1 or a true 2?

If Smith is going to play the 5, he better be ready to bang and board and play a lot bigger than 6' 7".

Jury still out on Vilde? I know he's athletic, but hasn't shown much. I thought he was supposed to be a guy who can bang and play down low.

I don't have this story right but Rich was talking during the CSU game that he got "Cotton" from a relative when he was young and playing BB. His shot was smooth when it went through the "cotton" net -- which are made of nylon.

If someone knows the story, please fill in where I messed it up.

I agree w/most everything you said. Frog is a nice player that is a career back-up on good teams. We need a big dynamic PG. FWIW, Giles is definitely a combo, not a PG. Smith isnt a true 5, but he's 6'7 and closer to 260 than 240, so he has size. He's an instinctive rebounder, I'm told, so that helps. Only kid on the roster whose top skill is rebounding.

Also, I don't think positions 1-5 matter that much in the princeton. Anyone can kick start the offense, and its not really predicated on a low post presence. I'm surprised Vilde hasn't been used more, or been more effective. He's a strong strong kid. He's skilled too, but none of that matters if it doesn't manifest itself when he plays actual games

Vilde, if he is what you say, needs to play like it...that is, strong & skilled.

More of this:
"get out of the way, I got this...here, have a little shoulder with this screen...sorry about the bruise, now let me roll off and catch this [deleted] and take it to the rack...oops, what's that? yeah, I dished it to the wide open guy in the corner. f'n right, big man got game...now move b/c I'm gonna abuse you at the other end too"

and less of
"man, I hope this is where I'm supposed to stand..k now I think Imma ro-wha? the ball? shxt I gotta catch those damn passes...f3ck now I gotta go play d...damn! that kid was too fast to box out-whyd the call a foul on me he got the board.."

LOL, that's honestly the biggest shocker of this season for me, at least thus far, by a mile. He's not a real back to the basket big, but I thought he'd at least be strong w/the ball & athletic. Also, what's w/kids that have been in the system for 16 months not knowing the offense?
