Big chumps at Cincinnati ----cheap shots in the fight at the end of the game...they were embarrassed on national TV and decide to take it out on Xavier. Gates is an idiot and should be banned from NCAA play for many games...

It will be interesting to see how the BE handles this mess. Should be multiple game suspension for what happened.

Gutless move.
Should miss numerous games.

Gates has always been a thug. His college career should be over after that shot he took on Freese as should the freshman who kicked Freese while he was on the ground. Nobody has ever confused uc basketball and class for a long time.

Gates is a grade A thug, and Cronin is a sackless leader.

Oh yeah, we need some thugs

Actually, in his interview, Cronin comes across as the voice of sanity in the whole mess. I have a feeling he may bounce more that one off the team for this. Really impressed with what he had to say.

That's all well & good w/regards to this incident. I'd hope he'd own up. Still not a fan, he's a swarmy fella

Just wondering why the Xavier starters ( or the Cinci guys for that matter)were even in the game that late in the game...poor coaching with that large of a lead and emotions running so high already.
And why didn't the Xavier coach tell his players to act somewhat classy at the Press conference?...guess not..

Gates got a 6 game suspension for throwing the punch, and a 6 game suspension for the (funny name) guy for stomping on the Xavier player's head.

The guy who stomped on Frease's head was Cheikh Mbodji, who went to JC about an hour from SMU. Several of us were always wondering why we didn't recruit him. Now we know

Admittedly, I only saw Tu Holloway at the presser, and I know many have taken issue w/his use of gangsta. I didn't, thought it was a poor choice of words, but he just meant the Xavier kids are tough.

The term gangsta was a poor choice of words. I understand where he is coming from and the media is blowing it out of proportion but still a very poor choice of words.

Just watched the presser. They didn't act like what they did was wrong in any way.
