RHONDA ROMPOLA: Alone at the top

SMU players, coaches and fans always enjoy a victory over cross-town rival TCU. But when the Mustangs' women's basketball team knocked off the Horned Frogs Nov. 17, the game gave SMU head coach Rhonda Rompola more wins than any coach in any sport in the history of SMU athletics. Rompola, and some of her colleagues and former players, visited with PonyFans.com to discuss why she has been so successful — on and off the court.

Enjoy!

Hell of a story, and a hell of an accomplishment.
Congratulations, Coach. Here's to many more.

Very good point. Breaking this record is a huge accomplishment, considering how high Hyndman set the bar, but the fact that it was broken by an SMU alum makes it even more special.
Congratulations, Coach R!

Congratulations Rhonda. I was waiting for Dement to hand his resume to Orsini at the game today to apply for the soon to be open men's head coaching position. Maybe Mike will agree to serve as an interim coach for the remainder of the year until a new "leader" is found. He is available, and there would be no relocation costs.

@SasserRules... Isn't Rhonda an ODU not SMU alumni?

She transferred to SMU after starting her playing career at ODU, and SMU is a better place for it.
