London Giles Goes For 16 Points In Home Conference Win

DALLAS (AP) -- London Giles scored 16 points and tied a career-high with five 3-pointers to lead SMU to a 70-54 win against Houston on Wednesday night.
Robert Nyakundi added 15 points and Shawn Williams and Jalen Jones 11 each for the Mustangs (10-8, 2-2 Conference USA).
Joseph Young and Kirk Van Slyke scored 11 points each for the Cougars (9-9, 1-4).
Young's 3-pointer got Houston within 53-47 with 8:13 remaining, but SMU responded with a 10-0 run. Jalen Jones had four points and Williams hit a 3-pointer during the surge, and the Cougars got no closer than 11 the rest of the way.
SMU is back on the court this Saturday, Jan. 21 when the Mustangs travel to Memphis, Tenn. to face C-USA opponent Memphis. Tipoff for Saturday's conference battle is 12:00 p.m. Live video, live stats and live audio will be available at smumustangs.com.
