I can't believe we even allow Beaudine on campus after the Jones/ASU fiasco.

I still don't understand how the same search firm you used to place June (Beaudine) could be the same one to place him at ASU. (and away from his alma mater at that) -- Not sure what I am missing.

Giddyup- its not what you are missing. It's what Beaudine is missing and that is a complete lack of ethics. I spoke with some friends who are 'headhunters' and both of them said they would consider it totally unethical to recruit a person that they had placed in a firm for another position.

Sorry, but I have no problem with what he did. He was hired to find us a good coach. Given the improvement over the Bennett years, I think that he accomplished that.

Later, he was hired to find ASU a new coach. If he thought JJ was a good fit, he owed it to them to present him as a candidate. The only reason the situation became a fiasco was b/c of the leak of the fact JJ was "gone" by the ASU people.

Hopefully, he (or someone else) can find us a good coach. At this point, I would settle for mediocre BE basketball team within 4 years b/c we have a long way to go. Currently, we are below average in CUSA and would have trouble winning the Ivy League with the current coaching/player combo.

Ok- we'll just disagree then.

Why? The way most of you have been talking about JJ, you would think he was doing us all a HUGE favor?

I don't know if you read the thread titled "The Problem with some SMU Alums" but Beaudine seemed be to be one of the ones that initiated the mess. I am not the only one that feel that way if you check the thread out. What got me about JJ the most was when he started offering our commits ASU scholarships before he was hired at ASU. Beaudine did no favors but was one of the initiators of the mess. I hope we do not use his firm to search for a new basketball coach.

This whole mess stinks.
