Doh has to finish the season?

I would love to see what are assistants could do and just let the players play.

Yes. We want to keep to current recruiting class intact

This. Gives whoever we hire a chance to retain them. Fire Doh now and they could all be gone.

If we are going to change coaches, the sooner the change is made the longer you have to look for new recruits if they leave. If you convince them to hang around until they see who the new coach is then you have longer for a coaching search. If they are going to leave immediately if he leaves then we should make the move now for our sake. What good does holding on to them until after the season do to help us.

We need a real coach

I agree mrydel. However, with eight games remaining, they are probably going to let him finish the season. This way, they can individually communicate to the players, encouraging them to stay, not lose recruits, and begin an immediate search for a new coach. This way, no players make a knee jerk reaction.

Let's just cancell the season! I thought the NY Giants should have done that under TC when they were 6-6.

so, for the record, you believe there is a chance the ponies run the table and win the NCAA tournament?

SMU will survive just fine without Coach DOH

Hopefully, when DOH leaves after this year. You will follow him.

Don't be so quick to toss any fan, even good old Travis aside. SMU needs everyone of its fans. You may not agree with Travis but he obviously cares for SMU.

DOH had 1 winning season out of 6. I'm impressed.

Agree that SMU needs all the fans it can get, but I honestly can't tell if Travis cares about SMU or just Doh. As for the coach himself, he's a great guy who inherited a disaster and had hopes of bringing us back to respectability; in that regard he has only been partially successful. He got the facilities upgraded, proved he can recruit, and had a decent year last year, but this season would seem to suggest that he has taken this team as far as he can in the W-L department, so it is time to move on. Not sure where exactly all the disconnects are (I hear people throwing out bad system, weak players, coaches telling players not to be aggressive on the boards - to me these are all symptoms of an overall breakdown in the way the program is being managed, and that falls squarely on the coach), but it appears that Doh is unable to correct them, and they will only be exacerbated when we hit the Big East. I wouldn't mind seeing the guy stick around the program in some capacity (Recruiting Coordinator or something to that effect), but he clearly has been unable to run the team successfully on the court and it is time to find someone who can.

We had one that won 20 last year. Where did he go?

In that infant pay-to-play tourney. oh, yeah.

.......... Would you rather have been a Memphis fan and have to take down that 2008 banner from the Title Game due to Derick Rose playing while ineligible?

Wait. Let me think on that one a minute.

Yeah is that even a serious question? OF COURSE.

If someone told me that SMU would play in the NATL Title game and 3 years later, their wins would be disqualified, I would take the (playing for the) title 100/100 times.

There are few teams that run a clean ship. Even Doh got his hand slapped by the NCAA for violating text messaging rules (although I believe it was self-reported)
