Hey I forgot SMU had a Basketball team but after reading a few of Travis Brickle's posts today I am getting some sadistic pleasure out of all of you who defended Doherty loading the 2010-2011 Basketball schedule with creamcakes because now you get to hear Brickle tout Doherty's dream 20 game winning season every few minutes. Hey Brickle-SMU sucked last year too. Going 8-9 in CUSA and padding your schedule with Port. St. Wayless Baptist, Little Rock Central (hey I like that one!), Gambling, My 3 Sons(another good one for McMuray), Bama St. and Dallas Christian High School deserves only a White Contestant ribbon.

I really wish you would sac up, and meet Ira Terrell face-to-face.

Is it me or does this TB character just seem like a spam bot? I ignored him so I don't have the benefit of seeing the ridiculous posts anymore. Suggest others do the same.

OK, guys. While it's true our non-conference schedule is weak (would help if we could sell some tickets and don't tell me we could "schedule sellouts because that hasn't happened in years), let's be fair. Everyone; even the all-mighty Kansas and Kentucky, schedules some gimmes.

This year, I see KY played Marist, Radford, Samford and Ark-Little Rock (we know those guys)

Kansas played Towson, FAU, Howard and N.Dakota. Would those games excite Ponyfans?

You guys should really let up on Mrs. Doherty/Travis Brickle. If you look at his posts, the guy knows nothing and has one track of supporting Doh and bashing Ira. That alone shows you his low IQ... basketball and otherwise. Sad. A very sad dude. I kinda feel sorry for him. He's challenged.

I agree with Stallion that you cannot give credible respect to the 20 game wins last season. The schedule was actually embarrassing with all the very weak teams. Yes, some wins over traditionally strong program, but those programs were not really that strong last season. You simply must play a much better non-conference schedule to have any chance for consideration for post season play. I watched the Murray State loss the other night on TV and the announcers openly discussed that this loss coupled with any other future conference loss and a third loss causing them to lose the conference title would seriously jeopardize any invitation to the NCAA tournament because their power point ratings would be so low. Imagine announcers worrying that a team with only 3 season losses could not be invited to the NCAAs.

Yes, and we got blown out by TCU (last place in the Mountain West) lost to La. Tech (last place in the WAC), and Rice (last place place in C-USA) and UC Riverside (cellar of the Big West) along with a handful of teams below 200 in the RPI, such as Houston, Tulane, and UALR.

In regards to the Memphis and Southern Miss wins, take a moment and listen to Doh's own statements in the post game presser. He admits he turned the offense over to Mangino, and reduced his meddling on the defensive end, becuase he knew he was confusing the kids. That was how SMU managed to play beautiful basketball for 2 weeks. Too bad Doh's ego couldnt let it last.

8-9 in conference play includes the loss to Rice in the C-USA tournament. SMU's 5th straight exit in the first round (anyone see a certain signifigance to 5 years?). For the first time in years SMU was actually favored to win their first round game, playing last place Rice, but somehow still found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Go say that to Papa and the rest of the team Stallion! They worked their tails off and did things the right way. You can't spell. Unbelieveable !

Lots of the same teams this year and we are 3-7 in the league. Good job last year's team and finish strong this year. Keep working!
