DO MUST GO!

Postby CoxBizGrad » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:55 pm

I haven't missed a home game in seven years and I have never seen such a poor performance by a team ever at SMU. The kids shot horribly, but the "coach" seemed confused and dazed the entire game. He wasn't encouraging, didn't motivate them and actually commented that UAB played solid defense in the post game show. He's out of touch with his team and reality. He's purely a saavy PR man who knows how to survive by kissing the right a@@es. It is a very sad situation for loyal SMU fans.

No way to sugarcoat this one. In 17 years of following SMU basketball, that was the worst game I've seen us play.

Fire Doh as coach and push him to the front office in charge of fundraising.
This way Orsini saves face, justifies Doh's $500K as well as paying a new coach. Step up and do the right thing.

It will be a travesty if Doherty coaches here another year

Let Hobbie finish it out. Stop the charade, let the process begin. Doh needs a mental health break and the players need to loosen up. Seriously, do everyone including Doh a favor and end this tomorrow. One thing Doh is not and that is a quitter. He won't quit and will probably grind himself and this team into the ground trying, thats why SMU needs to pull the plug.

If Doh is back next year, Orsini can find another buyer for my 4 season tickets! Totally embarrassing. I brought 2 friends along who said not to bother asking back for the rest of the year!

Orsini has absolutely no power or say in this situation. None!

Put him out of his misery and just let him go now before it gets worse and embarrassing the U even more. These players shouldn't have to endure more of this....if he goes to the front office, that's would be fine with me as he could be a good promoter for the athletic department.

Honestly, last night is just what this program needed. Legendary low that makes change so much easier. Their are no arguments for what we saw or have seen this season. As well coached as last years team was, this is the single worst coaching job I've ever been around. Last year was an aberration, not the norm

Doherty is a class guy, but he just can't do it. Wish he could. End it now. We shouldn't disgrace SMU, Big East, and Doherty by continuing.

Maybe the Big East will help us pick a quality coach in the interest of the conference

It is with mixed emotions that I watched the team reach a historical low, literally and figuratively last night. I wanted the team to win, however, the performance was a true indicator of how low this program has gone with Doh as their "leader." He truly needs to take a few years off and get back into broadcasting or return to Wall Street.

Yep. Time to start over. We need a basketball program that we can be proud of.

Yeah, we need a TEAM like last year's. They even stood at attention for the National Anthem with their hands over their hearts.

No, they didn't! :)
That was going on for at least a couple years.

Actually, I looked last night and it looked to me like every guy had his hand over his heart. They were facing away, so I could not tell for sure about a couple of them. Not saying they were at rigid attention, but they were pretty still and hands over hearts for the period of time I was looking. Don't believe it has anything relation to how well someone plays basketball though.
