Doh is a saavy business and PR man. He is a master politician. He knows that only the big money donors can make the decision to fire him. If he has these key individuals in his corner, no one else has the power or authority to fire him.

Why would they stick by him at this point?

SMU has lots of money men. And as I have said before, SO HAS the authority to fire Coach Doh, he just might not be able to do so for practical considerations. This is not an authority issue, it's a money issue. Get the right man to replace Doh and the money will come. Maybe not from Miller, but from somewhere. And with the BE money coming soon, you never know what the University might be prepared to spend without going to the donors.

The basketball program only has one influential money man who stepped up with the Moody renovation. Thank you Mr. Miller. Therefore, rightfully so, he has the final say... not Steve O. Not hard to figure out.

I'm not saying Mr. Miller is not a vital part of this, but just that, if the University (or another donor) decided to stump up the money, then Steve O. could fire Doh. Miller's money is already dedicated to the Moody renovation, I'm sure he can't back out know just because he likes Doh.

I bet every SMU Coach ever fired had more than 1 year left on his Contract. This is stupid. Fire his [deleted] and move on. He failed. You're going to lose more in lost ticket sales by keeping a failed bit another year. That's usually the equation used

I think everyone is intelligent enough to know that Steve O. has the authority but I think the relationship between Doh and Miller could make things difficult if Miller does not want to happen due to financial contributions. At this stage I just don't know how Miller could see thing differently than the rest of us.

Lose more on ticket sales... really? Have you been to a game recently? There's no threat of this when you can go on line the day of the game and secure floor seats. Even the big games like TCU have sparse crowds.

Disagree! Doh raised $12 million for the Crum Center on a couple of calls. What ticket sales in any sport for that matter?

28 points in a 40 minute game, the lowest point total in the modern era at SMU, screams for a change. We can't go to the BE and lay this kind of egg. I mean we'll see scores like 101-15 there. UAB is a good team, but not Louisville good, not Georgetown good, not Villanova good, not UConn good.... I had high hopes that Doh's stint a UNC was just a raw deal. But this is really beyond embarrassing.

Did any of you see David Miller's face at Wednesday night's game? Didn't look pleased (at all) with his investment.

I'm sure he wasn't pleased with chartering the flight to ECU to watch that absolute drubbing.

I would be mad too. He is probably our only significant hoops booster and Doherty is making him look like a fool.

He has every right to be mad. He put some serious dough and this is what Doh has rewarded him and SMU with.
