How Important is Saturday's Marshall Game to Doh's Longevity

If they lose... will Doh be packing up his U-Haul soon?

You're the one driving the wagon saying only the big money boosters can fire him. I don't disagree with you necessarily, but answer your own question...

I would be surprised if Doh gets fired before the end of the season, but the decision may well already have been made.

I agree Abu. He's out at the end of the season

I believe they are going to let him serve his final year in a fund raising PR, glad handing, donor relations and recruiting capacity so Steve O can save face. After he completes this year, Doh is history and returns to the broadcast booth or the business world.

He better have the guys ready to play and compete on Saturday. However, after Wednesday's debacle, I don't think it really matters. That game is burned into mind of everyone who saw or listened to it. It was an ugly and loss of historic proportions.

I can see that as a very likely outcome. I wonder if they are grooming him to succeed Orsini....

I certainly hope not. But if Orsini jumps ship for greener pastures (i.e. the green of The Irish) it could happen.

Orsini isn't an idiot. It'd be better to have a new coach come in and install a new system with new recruits, and take his lumps in year 1 in our last year of CUSA, rather than in the new Big East.

How Important is Saturday's Marshall Game to Doh's Longevity

Postby Grant Carter » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:50 am

He was hired as a basketball coach, I do not see how keeping him around in a fundraising capacity would allow anyone to save face. In fact, it would just be a reminder for a year. If orsini was trying to make himself look good then better to just get it over with and move on with a completely fresh start.

I agree with the sentiment of your post, but I just had to say that I long for a universe in which it is possible for SMU to win 143-6.

I wouldn't mind Doh shaking babies and kissing hands. I bet he'd be a pretty good fundraiser!
