Murray State's coach

Would he be a good choice? Any chance we can land him?

At this point, I am not sure Dave Bliss wouldn't be a better choice than what we have.

I suspect that he will have substantially more attractive offers after this season

He's been coach at Murray for one year, and while he may end up being a stud, that entire team is Kennedy's, who bolted for A&M. Not sure he's done anything, other than keep the ship steady.

Those are the concerns I had as well, hence the question of whether or not he would be a good choice. What's the industry take on him?

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Travis could provide the circus industry's take

If Doh is good, and you're telling him to take his money and move to LA...why the f should we be compassionate about his situation? Like everything else you write, this makes no sense.

I always worry about hiring a coach that has just one good year with the players brought in by the previous coach. You end up having to assume:
1) He can recruit good players to the program; and
2) He can pick the "right" kids to recruit to the program.

Running an errand today, I was listening to Jim Boeheim talk about recruiting. He told a funny story about how Rick Pitino (his assistant at the time) wanted him to sign a player. Instead, he took a guy who "never scored a point for us." The player he missed on was Rolando Blackman. Since Boeheim has enough hits to offset his misses, it's a funny story.

If a guy consistently misses on talent evaluation, it leads to dismal results which we cannot afford going in to the Big East. While we don't have to go with the "safest" pick, I don't think we can take a big risk with this coaching hire.

Do you get paid to use the word compassion as many times as possible on the board each day? Trolls are not welcome here. Quit reposting the same tired crap about his family.

Gonna have to come up with better comebacks or you will go the way of women's golf, that idiot poster that loved TCU and was a middle school coach out in East Texas, and of course Doh's coaching career.

Yes. With sheer mental power I am, right now, entering the minds of 14 year old children, causing them to pick on poor Tucker Doherty at school, by supplying them hateful words. And I am very proud of that.

SMUer, what other amazing mental powers do you have? Can you stop TB from pimping out his grand daughter?
