This is beginning to reflect poorly on you. Make a move sooner than later.

+1 If this week has solidified anything in my mind it's this: when bad things happen to TCU athletics, they mount an aggressive offensive (PR, GP, spin, national epidemic); when bad things happen to SMU athletics we don't talk about it, our AD goes silent, statements take weeks to come out, etc. We must have cleared out all the bravado from the 80s after DP and are now only left with businessmen and fundraisers.

Agree 100%. Doh was on thin ice coming into this season. Lost six of seven going into the UAB disaster and last in conference USA. The players body language and faces said it all on Wednesday, he has lost the team. Pull the trigger!

Doh has lost the team

The team must be totally dejected lossing to a CUSA schedule with talent that was talked up to be upper tier CUSA.

They hate the Princeton system and they are going through the motions on the court.

They jack up a shot but really don't care if it goes in.

When the coach losses his team - he has to go. No doubt. But will SMU find the money to buy him out.

I agree that Doh must go, but I think you let him finish the season out. Unless the locker room is just an absolute disaster.

let's free SMU from the perception of being a re-tread paycheck-granting sabbatical

Orsini put the University in this situation by granting RoboDoh a two year extension which was based totally on fund raising and financial goals. When you do that, and ignore the wins and losses, you deserve what you get. Orsini needs to step up and fix this. Where's the accountability. Top 25...

I agree that its obvious he has completely lost the team. You can't score less than 30 points in a game at home if you are really trying your best. Doh has also lost the fans. So if you want to blame the uninspired performance on the fan turnout, that comes back to Doh too. Sometimes you let a guy finish and sometimes you don't. This is a time you end it now, and let the players loosen up. It will also allow the fans to get behind the players in a bigger way without confusing the issue with supporting the continuation of the coach. At this point, when the Doh situation is a foregone conclusion, you have to think about the best support for the players and I think that is to let Doh go now and finish this season with a little fun for the young players as well as the seniors who don't deserve the distraction any longer. I can tell you i have no interest in watching the team continue to go through the Doh motions.

Why can him now, with no replacement, and basically lose any chance of holding the '12 class together when there's about five garbage games left in a lost season with a walking pink slip? Axe falls after the tourney, and be ready to move quickly on a new hire and don't release the '12 kids until they meet the new head mean. Maybe we can even stop the transfers. It would be pointless and shortsighted to terminate him now just for the fun of it.

Consider how long it takes for SMU to even hire a Janitor...

That's just wrong b/c despite the players not liking the system/Doh right now, they don't hate the individual. As long as he's gone, no worries, but do it w/dignity. Also, firing him now gives the '12 kids to long to sit w/o real answers. You have to protect that class, cause it has 3 kids w/high major offers, and a national top 100 big. This isn't life or death, the season is over. Let them play it out, pat Doh on the back, fire his [deleted], and get someone in here the next day. No reason to make this more bitter than it needs to be, b/c we want to see the kids play loose for 5 games. Just tell the frosh they'll have new blood in here for sure, and that their concerns will be taken care of.

Why haven't we even hired our offensive line coach 'officially'? Can we do anything in an expedited manner? Seriously. You see other coaches put together entire quality staffs in literally 24-36 hours in some cases, and it takes us two months to let him finish his Matlock DVD collection and come to work. Maybe I'm missing facts.
