yup. We never got any love from 3 stripes. Hopefully Nike changes our look

and yet all of that was better than the product Doh put out there

I'm drunk- someone answer this for me: how does Baylor consistently out recruit us? What are they selling? Waco blows, Dallas is awesome, the Crum Center has to (at least) be on par with anything they have, if not better. Plus they had a horrible scandal several years ago. What were they selling that we weren't??

They aren't sellers, they are buyers.

That's the Million dollar question. You'd think Drew has to be toeing the line on recruiting after the living death penalty they got after the murder/Bliss stuff. I can't figure it out. I suspect there is a solid AAU pipeline to Drew. There of course is the baptist angle which some parents like. And then there's the fact that Drew is an excellent game coach, Doh is not.

While we were wallowing in the CUSA, they were getting paid big bucks from the Big 12. While we wer stuck playing Rice, Tulane, UAB and Tulsa, the were playing UT, A&M, Tech, KU, and OU.

Plus, their coaches have been free to do what is necessary to protect the program. Bliss paid playeres and tried to cover up a murder for the program. The new guy is known to be on the shady side with respect to attracting top recruits.

Yeah, but at SMU we don't take you down to the quarry if you mess up.

disagree totally. we need to do exactly what Drew has done. They built their program by hiring AAU possee members as assistants - and that is what everyone who is trying to build from nothing HAS to do. Thats why we have been junk for years - we think we can rise above it - but we cant - we need to get in the gutter and get it done.

I've heard reference to shady things that Baylor does but no one ever mentions any specifics. I'll leave this open to the forum but what exactly are they doing that is so bad? And if it was bad then wouldn't the NCAA be all over them by now?

And to the other poster's comments, I also don't understand how Baylor can get recruits to go to Waco and we can't get them to go Dallas. I realize the better conference is a factor, but we will have a better basketball conference moving forward. Why can't we outrecruit them in basketball moving forward?
