Sources are saying he's a top candidate @ SMU.

Are you kidding? I have HS coach who knows him and said he's a Class A jerk.

Yeah, you either made that up or need much better sources

Pretty anyone we have named as a 'rumor' or a possibility for smu has been dissed by someone on this board. Guess that there really isn't anyone we should hire.

Tulsa should just hire Sutton from ORU. No relocation costs for them or him, and an upgrade at HC

No thank you. This guy couldn't win in Tulsa; he's not going to win here.

Funny. Tulsa cans Wojcik before we fire Doh. Another school that pulls the trigger within 24 hours of their season ending, which demonstrates resolve and urgency to the players and fans alike. Meanwhile, back on the Hilltop...

We still haven't announced the hiring of an Offensive Line Coach and its within days of being 3 months later

We look like dumbarses at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we're not already contacting coaches about the position. Things are not always as they seem... remember how bleak the coaching search looked before the JJ rumors surfaced 4 years ago.

Hey, the sunshine brigade says chill. Never mind that top schools put together entire staffs in 24-36 hours. Sunshine brigade says let him finish his Matlock collection and he'll be announced by Spring ball.

I made up the Dougie to Pony bit. SMU will get someone good. Im just glad the D'oh days are finally over.

Are about to be finally over....

Orsini said last year this was his final shot. No way D'oh is back next year.

I just think we have too much to lose by not getting this hire right. If it takes a little time, so be it. ANyone we hire will have to implement their system and find the right players for it. There will be a learning curve as well. Get the right guy for the job, no matter how long it takes. I remember the doomsday predictions during our fb search, and that ended pretty well for us. No reason not to expect the same results here.

Orsini has done a good job with what he has. I would only fault him for the extension he gave to Doh, and from what I've read I thought that was an automatic deal if certain conditions were/were not met. When Doh was hired, he was a big name with some pretty great credentials. Most people were happy with the hire at the time. It obviously didn't work out, but hindsight is always 20/20.

We need someone that can change the culture here, much like JJ has done for fb. The coach needs a big enough name that he can pressure the school to make some changes. JJ was able to change the model for football admissions. We need a similar ego for bb.
