Orsini's Job

Postby DiamondM75 » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:18 pm

Does Steve's job security hang on a new BB coaching hire? He terminated Tubbs, missed with Doh and JJ was delivered on a silver platter.

Could this hire make or break his career at SMU?

Just thinking.

I would think he is secure based on his overall results. I for one hope so.

I know that non-revenue sports are not as high of a profile as the revenue sports. But I think that he hit a home run with the men’s golf coach.

Technically it was Copeland who terminated Tubbs.

It's a shame discussions like this one that really need to be had about Orsini take place on the football and basketball boards where people take exception if you bring up the non-revenue sports - but that is still a big part of his job.

As for the non-revenue sports I follow, I would say the coaches are about 50-50 - but I still stand by my opinion Orsini doesn't care one bit about anything but football. He only cares about BB when he is forced to like he is now.

I would agree with that assessment.
