Search - Wait for Post-Season Tourney's to end??

Postby Digetydog » Mon Mar 12, 2012 8:04 am

Would those on this board with more college BB knowledge than me answer a question? Is it customary to wait until after the Post-Season Tourneys are over to contact/hire a potential coach?

My thoughts:

Unless we are going to hire someone who doesn't have a coaching job at this time (Fran F),I would expect that most (if not all) candidates we would want to interview would be coaching in the NCAA or NIT tournaments. Head coach or assistant, I would hope most of our candidates would meet this criteria.

While I would expect that Orsini's crew would be reaching out to candidates during the tournaments, I cannot imagine a coach would be available for a full interview while his team is still playing.

It is a fair question, but most of the background work could be done behind the scenes. A full interview may have to wait, but they can gauge interest, salary demands, etc. ahead of time.

I assume they could be talking to the agents involved while the tournament is going on.
When will I start feeling stimulated??
