Iona's Tim Cluess

Iona College in NYC. Won the regular season title in the MAAC. They were in the play-in game against BYU and they had a big lead but blew it.

He's from the Bronx (could be a fish out of water) and last year took Iona to the CIT finals before they lost Santa Clara. I know he had a guard Scott Machado on his team that people thought was going to the NBA

Has a pretty good track record and probably knows where the bodies are buried in the East for recruiting.

Food for thought.

Mitch, you sir have a hoops mind. Cluess was on my original list w/a slew of other guys that would do wonderfully by this program. These are the types of candidates we should be honing in on

Brown sounds open to role. Why not get him to either assist or be HC w understanding he is grooming the assistant?

Why not just get a quality young head coach that's tireless?

AMEN to that.

Last thing we need here is an egotistical HC who may potentially rest of his laurels and not actively recruit. One is enough.

Speaking of which, give Buzz credit. THAT is the way you handle a job search.

We dont need another ego June type in here. no Brown please. Young and tireless sounds great. Assts seem like a crap shoot most of the time (see TCU)

Honestly, I'd prefer a little less recruiter, a little more bench coach. Like Josh, known him since my Vegas days, but he's not proving to be a prodigy come game day. He's still hell on the trail, though

You're right about Josh as a bench coach but his connections to the Texas AAU scene (especially Houston) would be invaluable
