And TCU isn't even paying the big bucks . . .

The long shot candidate to take over TCU men's basketball, Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon, is out of TCU’s price range, according to several sources at the school.
“He is not a viable candidate at this time,” said one source.
Dixon’s financial demands would be too much for TCU. He makes over $1.7 million at Pittsburg

Del Conte told TCU's student online news site that the school would not overpay for a coach.
"There’s coaches that say, ‘Hey, I want to come in and make a crazy amount of money,’” Del Conte told TCU360. “We’re just not going to do that. We have to be mindful of who we are.

Let's go get Dixon. What we offered Buzz was essentially double what Dixon makes. He's a good coach, plus it would really tick off the Frogs

well Dixon is a Frog and seems from what I have read to still have strong ties to the school although it could not afford him as a coach. I wonder if he would go to an arch rival.

Only time will tell. He did well at every school except LSU.

Trent Johnson made $1.5 million at LSU.

Do you think TCU paid him at least $1.2 million, doubling the past coach's salary?

Word I hear is that Dixon now makes 2.1 million. Surely we didn't offer Buzz 4.2 million!!?? Say it aint so.

Per the article linked above, Dixon makes "over 1.7 million." Obviously 2.1 million is more than 1.7 million but if he were making significantly more than 1.7 million, why did they use the 1.7 number?

No, we didn't offer Buzz 4.2 mil. But our offer was solidly between 3 and 4 million.

Report: TCU to pay Trent Johnson $2 million annually

will earn $2 million annually at TCU, according to the Star-Telegram, plus incentives based on graduation rates.

Paying Trent Johnson 2mill per is laughable. As bad as our process is, we're gonna get a better coach/staff. What is TCU doing

Better coaching staff? According to who? You don't even know what kind of coaching staff Trent Johnson is going to have at TCU.
