nobody ever mentions him-Stuck out in New Mexico in a dying conference-knows Dallas. Fits the profile of some of the hints I've read. Sounds like someone Orsini would hire-sounds like someone the Boosters could get behind with a Check. I'll take Alford as the surprise hire-and partly because his name hasn't been surfacing

Isn't he a world class [deleted]?

Also, didn't he just sign a huge extension with NM?

I would love this. That would be a huge hire

If you can fit his ego into Moody, it might work out. His reputation is not a good one in basketball circles. Not known as a very good motivator or very well respected by his team. Kind of like hiring Doherty all over again. The only difference is... his teams' win.

Yes, he does seem like the type Steve O would tap.

Doesn't fit some of the hints on Rivals.

He was one of my choices from the outset, but I heard he was not interested.

Would love this hire. He got fired after making Iowa relevant in the Big Ten - never understood that

Not sure of UNMs financial situation but it seems like they would have a ceiling on what they can pay which would open the door for us to overpay for Alford. Might not be a bad move at this point. The best thing i can say about Alford is he is a coach's son and he clearly doesn't like to lose.

First time I have seen SO described that way?

The hate for Orsini on here is unreal. You people could complain about a threesome with supermodels in the Maldives.

I agree, ECM. Taking shots based on so little is both silly and counter-productive. Anomymity on the internet permits it. Doesn't make it accurate, e.g. "If it is on the web, it must be true?"
I have only met SO a couple of times, but I believe he bleeds red and blue. He may have other aspirations, but it would be hard to be critical of 'most' of his moves at SMU. Recall our picture before his arrival.
