Picking up Strickland would be be big. He is a terrific recruiter and would be a great person for SMU.

Isn't Rod Strickland a recruiting ace? I loved the idea of Larry Brown from the start and reading this article makes it that much more of a no-brainer to me. If not Brown then Theus! I would be ok with Tony Benford.

I haven't seen a reasonably competitive assistant coaching staff selected and focused on recruiting in 25 years.

PLEASE sign Brown! I have been quiet on all this basketball hooplah, but I was at SMU during it's heyday of Jim Krebs et al and I HAVE SEEN GREAT SMU BASKETBALL!. Signing Brown might bring me back to Dallas for a B-Ball games! Do it now!

Ha! You pissed on my mention of Reggie Brown and then listed him as your Texas assistant pick the next day. I picked Rob Evans as a possible Director of Basketball Operation because he is Benford's Uncle -makes sense. Look Rob Evans has a lot of skins on the wall around Texas. He spent about 20 years around Texas recruiting Coaching 3 BCS schools that recruit Texas and before getting 2 BCS coaching jobs. If Benford got the job I wouldn't be surprised to see him in that position.
