A different kind of search

My assumption is that most ADs look for a head coach, get them signed, and then the HC assembles staff. Is that the case and isn't that why TCU etc. turned it around pretty quick?

What we have been doing is hiring a whole staff at the same time, not just the HC. As we all know, the more complexity added to a task, the more difficult it becomes.

I agree with other posts though, success will be determined by wins and losses, conference championships, and tournament appearances, not by how we did the search.

It certainly is a different kind of search with the head-coach-in-waiting element making it a more drawn out and complex process. Hopefully it's worth the wait. Unfortunately JC transfers, etc. are being secured by other schools as we speak, and some of our existing team members are probably looking at other options as well.

That and 4 coaches turned us down.
