Contracts or Term Sheets

With the evaluation period starting Friday April 20 (or was it last week?), I've got to think that the likes of Howard and Strickland have at least agreed to term sheets so they can get going. Just a guess.

I'm not going to pretend to know Jank other than I saw where ESPN reported that it thought he was going to join LB here. And Jank is your Texas connection, although he's been removed for some time. I think I saw where Howard was an admin asst for Billy Clyde at A&M, but I don't know if he recruited there.

My criticisms against the DFW AAU notwithstanding, I do recognize that we need to make a name for ourselves in here and make a move to get this relationship moving in the right direction. I think administration and years of neglect really hurt this. However, maybe they can start looking at the school differently with this staff and the Moody renovation.

It won't happen overnight but hopefully, actions will speak louder than words. That said, it would be refreshing if the locals would be open minded instead of making up their minds.

I don't know the DISD enters into the equation if at all because so much recruiting is tied to the AAU scene.

Coach Bishop at Lincoln likes the hire and is looking forward to SMU reaching out them. That's fair. Should be an exciting year. I can't wait until SMU get's a one and done player in basketball.

I don't care where the hell they go to get talented players. Just go get on a plane, train our automobile and bring them to SMU. Or better yet... send thousands of texts to the players and their parents. Oh wait... Doh and Scott Drew tried that. Not a good approach.

Doh sent 107 impermissible text messages. Not even remotely comparable to what happened at Baylor. I've corrected you on this before.

Yep, and saying that it was "thousands" when in fact it was 107 is very wrong indeed.

We've had lots of "one and done" players, it's just that "done" doesn't always mean "NBA"

I stand corrected Mrs. Doherty.

If history repeats itself, LB will push the envelope. Everyone is quite familiar with the rules and know which ones they can violate and to what extent. What coach doesn't play the game?

LOL, never heard that one before, especially when I was one of the people on here most vocal about Doherty needing to go and constantly waging war against the ridiculous Travis Bickle. But Doh is gone, and there's no need to exaggerate about the failings that he had at SMU. Good guy, wrong coach for SMU is all there is to it.

By the way, regarding the texts, Doherty had checked with Jeff Konya before his staff made those texts, and Konya said that they weren't breaking any rules. So if you want to blame anyone, blame Konya...but he's not here anymore either.

I'm all for discussing facts. But facts do not matter to you because your only agenda is to continue to kick Doherty over and over. What a joke.
