Just read the Rivals story Balise. I can't wait to see the big man occupying the paint this season. I have a gut feeling he's gonna be the real deal.

btw, I've always been more impressed with offers rather than star ratings. He may have the most impressive set of offers of any player to come to SMU, basketball or football, in quite a while - Cinci, Clemson, Marquette, Seton Hall, Temple, Vandy, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and St. Jo's.

I love Sanders but I'd have to disagree. You have four top 25 programs offering Balise (Marquette, Cinci, West Virginia and Vandy). Of Sanders offers, Arkansas is the only consistent top 25 program.

He should have had better offers though Arkansas was a legit offer (Petrino knew talent). Kids a big time player.

Virginia and Wake have good recruiters as well. Sanders has the most overall offers of any recruit since JJ has been here. I wish we had more players with an offer list like Sanders. When we start getting a bunch of players with offers list like that then we will be ready to be BCS winners.

Glad to see everyone putting so much emphasis on offers, but there may be problems with how solid a gauge offers are:
1) Not all offers are reported.
2) Offers are usually time bound and are often rescinded.
3) Many players make early decisions to play for a particular school -- but would have received a nice offer list had they opened things up
Best gauge for three stars and below? Probably. But far from imperfect.

Not to mention hoops is a wholly different animal when it comes to offers. Number 1 priority of most staffs is keeping offers grey. They want kids to think they're wanted, and that they have an offer, but few can actually commit.

I believe the honor now goes to Jeremiah Gaines. That is if we can hold on to him.

The most impressive offer list ever (of the "recruiting service era") was Davon Moreland. Damn shame he never got here. Guess he never will.
Arizona
Arizona St.
California
Oregon
Oregon St.
San Diego St.
Texas A&M
UCLA
USC

With the SEC and BIg 10 schools I think GAines has a more impressive list IMO.

USC and Oregon are NC caliber. That, and I have a west coast bias.

You guys aren't including Crandall Head and Markus Kennedy, possibly NIck Russell. Those are all top 100 kids w/many sizable offers
