He believes he is too honest with recruits. He told those close to one of the nation's best players, a 6--9 forward he declined to name, that if he played within 15 feet of the basket that he would be one of the best players who ever played. They did not want to hear that. The recruitment was over.

Oh boy, another coach who is too honest for his own good. It sounds like his assistants are doing the leg work and trying to get him to do the close. LB can get you to the NBA. If you don't choose Kentucky you might consider the next stop to be SMU.

If Mike Dement could land Jeryl Sassar and Brian Hopkins with all the restrictions he had to deal with, I have no doubt that Larry Brown and this staff will get over the hump with one of these recruits. Its just a matter of time.

I saw that Shepherd committed to TCU the other day. Wonder why he would want to go to that program?
