Big Improvement

This years versus last year's team, with 4 of the 5 guys from last years team starting looked much improved. Amazing what a little coaching will do.

Best part of the game plan was we attacked the basket, not settling for 3's. The boys hustled as well on every play and the defense looked much improved.

Will be interesting to see how good we can become.

Long way to go, but a nice start.

russell was great - definitely part of the difference. VERY solid player in many aspects of the game.

Good night for hoops. Good crowd. The team played hard at both ends. The style fits the team better and is fun to watch. Great start.

Who is number 14?
No one listed on the SMU roster had that number?

Jordan Dickerson.

He was going to be 32, but then they realized the number is retired for Jim Krebs (insert Ira Terrell discussion here), so he is going to be 30 - but they don't have his real jersey yet so he was stuck with 14 tonight.

According to Rich, so I imagine it is true.

Jordan Dickerson, who's very raw and has a looooong way to go to be Big East ready.

Thanks.
Tonight was the most fun I've had at an SMU game since the Jeryl Sasser era.

Lots of fun. Sure beats the morgue that Moody had become over the last 5 years.

So how good was LMU?

SMU shows lots of hustle and energy but I'm curious of LMU is considered a quality opponent ?

LB said many times he was happy with crowd. I like the ball movement - being the first game we'll only get better. Nick makes a huge difference compared to last year.

I think LMU is a decent team - comparable to a CUSA team, just a guess. Probably like a UCF or Marshall.

Loyola Marymount finished 4th in the WCC to BYU, Gonzaga, and St Mary's. They are one of the better opponents we will face in non-conference play, but our non-conference schedule is said to be extremely weak. Hopefully we can win about 12/15 non-conference games.

We missed a lot of shots right around the basket. The game coulda been an even bigger victory. Great win none the less. Had a blast at the game.
