If Big East falls apart....Larry Brown???

Larry Brown has publicly said the only reason he accepted the job at SMU was because we were moving to the Big East. All the uncertainty about the conferences has me wondering about how long LB will stay at SMU if things fall apart.

We'll be okay. As long as well can have a team to get to the NCAA tournament. His goal is to win a national championship no matter what conference we are in at the the. We have some hosses coming in next year that could make a run.

I worry about this too but I really think LB is having a lot of fun and enjoying it here.

he is here to create something cool, to teach, and to end on a positive note. also for some extra knocking around money. Big east helps all that but is not a requirement (see friggin baylor as an example)

If the Big East falls apart he's gone. His goal is to win a NC and it's virtually impossible to do that if you're not in a major conference.

I don't think he would have come if we weren't going to the big east.

BUT I do not think he will leave now if we don't go since wheels are already in motion, he is here and enjoying it.

This is his last coaching gig, he friends with Cal, he witnessed what Cal did at Memphis, this is the only time in his career that Larry can create a program.

BIG EAST basketball will be intact for at least three or four more seasons. Nothing to worry about tonight at least.

Im not worried either, so long as he can see a fanbase build, hope that was never there come to life, it would be book worthy for him. I think if he can take this team to where its mention in the papers for the first year, I dont think he will complain the least bit. We just need to make it fun out there so he can feel at home.

Works out great then, in 3 or 4 years Brown will have amassed a significant amount of talent which should make SMU a contender no matter where we end up.

Haha, that is about the funniest thing I have read on Ponyfans. Every heard of these Schools?
Butler, George Mason, Valpo, Gonazga, this list goes on and on. A little school winning the BCS in fball, now that is beginning to be virtually impossible.

SMU the bball school!!!

Has any of those schools you listed won a NC?

Big East football =/= Big East basketball, we'll be okay in basketball with Georgetown, Villanova, Marquette, St. John's, Memphis, etc
