After the Utah game, I rushed to my car so that I might hear the post game interview with Larry Brown, only to find out that the women's game was on instead. Apparently, Rich & Alan had been announcing play by play to nobody.

For real?
Question: Why isn't that played in the arena?
(Why the women's game pre-empts the men's game is baffling).
C'mon SMU peeps, let's go on this stuff.

Was not thrilled turning on 770 for drive home from DFW to hear women at TCU. Weak.

We have 4 instances where the men and women play at the same time on the same night, and we of course both share 770 KAAM. The decision was made that the road team would be on radio and the home team on internet only, and I support that decision. Last night was the only one that puts the men on internet-only.
Tune in 770 for pregame at 2:45 and tip-off at 3 PM Saturday as SMU plays at Hofstra. Who's up for another D1 non-conference road win? Haven't had many of those in recent years.

Rich, excellent job with the PBP last night. As fun as you are to listen to in football, you are even better to listen to in hoops.
Is there any chance that the men's and women's teams can be on a different station next season? Wouldn't want preemption to occur as we move into to Big East.

Don't think so. I think we have a contract through next season with 770 KAAM. They've been a good partner for us for a number of years. Much better than the froggies who bounce around to about 6 stations per season. Has it's downsides to it like last night, but at least you know where to look for us each game. And we are always streaming at smumustangs.com.

Uck uck uck. That..would..suck.
As you said, it's the only time this season that'll happen for a Men's game, so I think we can all deal with it.
Beat Hofstra.

I think 15 is pushing it, Ponyscott. Idiot call. How much money do we lose broadcasting women's basketball anyway? Certainly no sponser in their right mind would pay to reach that audience.

Man, I hope no members of the women's team are reading these unfortunate posts. They deserve better. This attitude is exactly why Congress (rightly) felt it necessary to enact Title IX in 1972.
