No expectations. Just wanted to ask how many wins does everyone think it might take to get SMU into the CBI tournament?

All we need to play in the post-season is a winning record and we are in. NIT or NCAA would be much more difficult.

The wildcard is Brown. Get 18+ wins and the NIT might take us just because of the coach.

The NIT has automatic bids now, so that changes the process. Also, its seeded according to who can sell seats which isnt us. Larry Brown doesnt just get you in, but a huge home attendance record might. Second, I'd say 20 wins gets CBI. Winning record won't get CBI by itself

But we got in when Doh was here, and no doubt worse attendance. What is the probability if someone steps ups and pays again? And wit LB if he asked someone would step up, right?

Didn't Doh have less than 20 wins during the regular season when he went to the CBI a couple of years ago?

That was the CIT. CBI is a step up I believe. The CIT was a fun run though.

Gotcha. That's right. As much fun and unexpected that run was, this one is much cooler - post season or not. The needle is pointing the right direction.

I think we need 20 wins or more to make the NCAA Tournament based on our strength of schedule, and I know someone posted an article from rivals that said we had one of the toughest schedules but I couldn't disagree more.... If we finish top three in conference and have a good showing in the tournament then I think we make it in, however I've seen schools with great records not make it in based on a poor strength of schedule. Either way, hope we do, and I do agree that things are looking up! Pony Up!

One of the Rivals members posted a link to the RPI that said we had a hard schedule. No article on Rivals was written saying SMU had a tough schedule. .

Totally agree. It is what is great about college hoops. We are on the rise. I'm already dreading telling the better half how much the season tix have gone up next year...

I was mistaken. It was the CIT. I thought it was the CBI. Well at least SMU has 4 college postseason tournaments that are possibilities.

I think we get at least 12-13 wins before conference. We may need to at least split our conference games to sniff anything. That would be 20-21 wins at least.
