I'm watching the Big East

this year a lot more than in the past....and I'm not breaking news but wow, we're gonna have to make a huge step up to be competitive on a nightly basis. There are no "easy" games in that league. I'm confident we will be a lot more talented and obviously deeper next year, but we're going to have to be. Otherwise we'll be the new South Florida.

Thank You... I'm glad you spoke up. For a moment I thought you were like our leadership and the rest of our fans who still think we are upgrading our conference situation. One day someone is going to wake up and notice that we are in the same conference with the same tv revenue with more travel expenses and think " Why am I watching Boise St every year make more money than us while playinng as the 6th BCS qualifier every year?" Not to worry, that person will quickly be overcome with joy and excitement about SMU v. Montana State at Ford! Call 214-SMU-Game before tickets run out!

South Florida beat us decisively and consistently during Doherty's tenure. I'm afraid some folks are going to get a rude shock when they see the real difference in talent level and physicality of play between where we are now, and where we're going.

I'm not that worried. Its not like we're expected to do anything but stink. Just bite some names

Obviously, we'll have to wait and see how the incoming guys mesh. We will be much more talented and hopefully have a normal substitution pattern next season. Having seen Markus and Nic play I can't wait for those guys to get on the floor, and Yanick is our highest rated recruit in years. I really like the improvements in Cannen from last year but we need a lot more help in the middle, Markus and Yanick should provide that.

Blaise may help there as well. Not so sure about Ben Moore, as its hard to get a feel for him in high school ball. Seen him twice, and barely got touches both times

Next year we'll be playing in the basketball equivalent of the SEC. The Big East is that good. Every team is big strong and can shoot the lights out.
