To waive that off was an absolute travesty.

They kept show replays that didn't show the defender's feet but he sure seemed pretty far under the basket to not be in the restricted area. Regardless, I think a no call would've been appropriate. Took away a special play by JJ

I thought it was a good call; an over aggressive play by Jalen

There are no 'over aggresive' plays by this team..good for Jalen. The rest of the guys play so soft and UN -aggresive...its good to actually see someone with a tude.

Not a good call IMO either... the clip shows the defender's arms/hands were unnaturally forward into Jalens space and the defenders arms were not straight up...NOT a foul on Jalen......Basketball's principal of verticality

"The principal of verticality means that a player is entitled to his/her space that is occupied, plus only all vertical space above that player.
A defensive player must keep his hands and arms vertical within his cylinder whilst defending an opponent. If a player is moving their hands and arms forward out of the cylinder as the offensive player commences his upward motion and the defender contacts the shooter's arms, its a foul on the defender. "
That is exactly what that weak 'defender' on Tulane did while Jalen was attacking. No foul should have been called on Jalen....maybe a 'no call' or call a foul on the defender, but NOT Jalen.

I agree, I think that it was a strong move by Jalen, and I think that the footage strongly suggests that the Tulane player was on the move at the time, in addition to, as PonyScott says, his arms were forward in relation to his body. Another game where the refs were less than consistent (especially with Jalen). That said, we shot 56%, played very well at times and were really only beaten by 50% shooting threes. I know that one can say we should have been defending the perimeter better but I have no doubt that we prepared for the game to take away the inside and did not expect.

I might be in the minority but I thought we played pretty well for most of the game. 5 starters in double figures, 67 points on the road. Must be doing something right. Remember we cut the lead to 3 with 3 and a half minutes left. The final score flatters Tulane, IMHO.

That dunk was spectacular. The best dunk by a mustang in years. That was the text book definition of a slam dunk. Jalen knows where to go with the rock.

Great dunk, awful call. Second best dunk in awhile, next to Leslee's last year vs OSU

I hate the offensive charge call. Just standing still holding your cookies and flopping should not be a foul call. You can do it but if you get steamrolled, it was your choice. Now the offensive guy has to make the basket. It should always be a "no call".
Think about it - you make a great play to be in a position to score and some dude just stands still and gets a call. Bullsh..................

Under you philosophy wouldn't all offenses just turn in to getting the ball around the arc and just streaking directly toward the basket running over any defender in the way?

I loved the dunk. It needs to happen in Moody. Deafening.

No, you still play defense by engaging the offensive player - you have to move your feet. Not just slide over, stand still, and get a call...............

It was by far the most physical, aggressive play of the day. Too bad the refs blew the call. The defensive player didn't establish himself.

In my opinion, the call could have gone either way. I just think when a kid makes a once or twice in a career play and its a borderline call, you have to give him his moment.
