West Virginia basketball complaining about BIG 12 travel

I'm posting this because of this statement:
"...WVU was scheduled to go out on the road, play a Saturday game, fly home on Sunday, practice Monday and fly out again on Tuesday for a Wednesday game.
League rules do not allow them to stay on the road during that time, so they use up most of two days traveling.
Rather than doing that, they would prefer to play a Saturday-Big Monday on the road with a Sunday stay over"

Interesting, so when SMU basketball comes to the Northeast will they or can they play 2 or 3 games per trip? FYI, Rutgers and Seton Hall are 40 minutes apart. Then St. Johns another 1/2 hour. When they come to Texas would they play SMU and Houston per trip? Then what about the other sports?

I doubt that SMU is going to draw many Big Monday appearances next year.

Pity the West Virginia fans trying to travel with their sofas and dealing with that pesky air travel ban on flammable fluids.......

On the positive side, they don't have shoes to take off for the airport security screening.

Inbreds from WVU. Love it how administrations make these conference deals and then discover that their fans are not totally sold on the idea. Yup, years of rivalries down the tubes for $$$$.

EXACTLY, EastStang.

If I were them, I'd be less upset about the travel to WVU games than about the fact that I actually have to live in West Virginia.

Yep. Totally brilliant isn't it? Will it ever swing back around to what matters to the fans? I think it probably will, but unfortunately we as fans are going to have to suffer until it does swing back to a more rational way of operating college sports.

Being that it's West Virginia. They don't have to worry about packing a toothbrush or toothpaste

imagine that; switch to a conference where your nearest conference mate is 1,000 miles away and then complain about travel. brilliant.

the only real rival West Virginia has is Pitt and I assume they will be able to resume their series

Who remembers the talk about Morgantown's runway length at the local airport when they were tossed around as a Big 12 candidate. People were actually questioning and discussing runway length they were that excited about it.
