Winning season

Really, that's all we could have hoped for heading into the season, especially after hearing Blaise was ineligible, then hurt, and cottons injury. We have that chance by beating UTEP. Props to #godfather, big game. Eff a miner

I agree. We have seen improvements from Cannen, Ryan and Shawn. I believe JJ will benefit the most by having true bigs in the rotation next season. All these guys will have an impact moving forward. One thing is for sure, this isn't LB's first rodeo. The Godfather knows what he's doing. The future is bright! Bring on our final C-USA tourney.... you never know.

Best of all - next year's team will be better than this one. With no bench to speak of, Larry Brown showed that coaching really matters.

The CUSA tournament is going to be interesting. We could easily lose our first game, but we can stick with any team in CUSA, so you never know what will happen.

posting a winning season was a lofty goal for this team, but it remains within reach. Beat UTEP and win a 1st round game and then even a 1st round loss in the CIT would result in a .500 season

I read that there won't be any paid for post season games this year. Larry Brown doesn't want to do it.

Correct, no reason for it

we've also lost to every cusa team with a winning conference record, and 2 of our 5 wins are against rice who has to be one of the worst teams in the ncaa. would be nice to win a game for once, but it's gonna be a longshot.

We are actually favored by 1 in this game, so we have a legitimate chance. Win or lose I have enjoyed watching this team play this year. Would have been great to win some of those close ones that got away, but we knew from the beginning that this year was but a small stepping stone to bigger and greater things.

SMU really is going to be better next year, and for once its not just something to say and hope for.

Those are nothing but facts. Not much interpretation required

Your facts have nothing to do w/how those games were played and how close they were. Stating facts makes it seem like we have no chance, when we have a very legit chance.

It always gets me when someone tosses out a nearly meaningless stat like "X team has lost to every team in their conference with a winning conference record." CUSA had five of its twelve teams with winning conference records. If you're gonna lose eleven games in conference, as we did, there's a damn good chance that five of those would be against the top five teams. Meaningless.

Ok. Then answer this- who exactly did we beat in conference this year that was such a quality win? The only teams we beat were the other 3 teams comprising the bottom 4 of cusa. So yes, it is relevant that we didn't beat a winning team.

Hoop man I know you know 100x what I know about hoops and i respect everything you post, but surely you can come to the conclusion that we aren't that good this year. Yes- we kept it close in a lot of these games for a half but we aren't deep enough to last a full game against even a mediocre cusa team.
